Drunk Boater falls into water at Highlands Bridge

ImageSunday night approximately 10 pm emergency services were called to the Highlands Sea Bright bridge for a “man overboard” . Highlands and Sea Bright responded, the subject was not injured and taken into custody.  One of the swimmers, Nick Ferrazano from Middletown was quoted as saying “we werent drunk and didnt ask for or need any rescue, just a little excitement in the beginning of summer…i never saw a sign that said swimming at night if prohibited and no one rescued us either. the cops were waiting under the bridge for us to swim up took us in their cars and treated us very fair and professional, and we will man up and pay our debts for the decision we made”, further he said they did it because “the people at wind and sea were cheering us on to do this,”

It’s officially summer and the bennies are here.

Earlier in the same evening, Emergency services operating in the area of the Highlands-Sea Bright Bridge received a call with a reported 19-foot boat that has now drifted ashore with 15 persons on board, Marine 43 requested to assist along with Marine 17. No reported injuries aboard; NJSP Marine Unit & USCG notified.

And if the people at Wind and Sea told you to jump into the river, would you do it? Oh, well I guess you would – not that explains it all!

  3. This wasn’t the same guy who tried to pee in my yard on Saturday night, was it? When I flipped my lights on, he decamped to the neighbor’s instead. He told me he had every right to urinate wherever he wanted in Highlands and I was out of line for being upset and shooing him off!!!

  4. Frustrated,

Just so you know, the person using your yard as his own personal urinal indeed has no right to do so. In fact, most towns have laws against public urination and often have big fines attacted to the crime. If the guy shows up again, I would call the cops and lets see what rights he has then!

I would have asked where he lived, gone and taken a dump in his front yard, and see how OK he is with that!!!!
